Weekly Price Recap: 3/10-3/16
Last week, our members averaged 8.3 ₵/kWh while the average Texan paid 11.6 ₵/kWh – that’s 40% higher!!! There were only 3 price spikes that occurred across the entire state, none lasting more than 5 minutes. However, our friends down in the South Texas region got hit with a couple hours of price spikes on Wednesday as congestion on the grid’s transmission lines near McAllen caused prices down in that region to blow out. It didn’t affect the Houston or Dallas areas, and was back to normal by Wednesday evening.
And guess what?! West Texas experienced 18 hours of NEGATIVE prices!
