Weekly Price Recap: 3/8-3/14

Griddy members had another week of savings last week even with price spikes, paying 9.0¢/kWh vs. the Texas average of 11.9¢/kWh, which is 32% higher!

There were several spikes across the state last week. These spikes came throughout the week and were due to increased sensitivity on the grid due to seasonal plant outages. With lower generation capacity, the grid was far more susceptible to elevated pricing when demand was higher and/or when wind generation was low. Every load zone also saw at least one interval of negative pricing last week!
