Weekly Price Recap: 7/12 – 7/18

Griddy members had another week of savings last week, paying 6.7¢/kWh vs. the Texas average of 12.0c/kWh, which is 79% higher!!!

There was one price spike lasting 5 minutes in Houston, North, and West Texas. It occurred on Thursday afternoon and was due to a 500 MW gas plant trip, which caused a scarcity adder to go in place. There was also 1 hour and 5 minutes of negative pricing across the state last week!
