Electricity Price

Your average price per kWh for electric service will depend on your usage and the following pricing components:

  • Griddy Membership: $9.99/month (which breaks down to about 33¢/day). This is what we charge for providing you access to the wholesale price of electricity and our proprietary platform.
  • Wholesale Price of Electricity: Average wholesale price: 3.0¢/kWh
This covers the cost to generate electricity, maintain system and supply reliability, and provide system operations. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) manages the wholesale electricity system in Texas and determines the market price of electricity.
  • Utility Charges:  $3.42 per month and 3.9¢/kWh
This is what your Local Utility charges for maintaining the transmission and distribution infrastructure and metering of your electricity. These costs are passed through at no additional cost.
